Six o’clock already
I was just in the middle of dream
I was kissin’ Valentino
By a crystal blue Italian stream
Yes! No more manic Mondays.
I quit that job.
I won’t be driving crazy on Mondays… no more.
I can afford to be in bed late and wait for Alexa to wake me up at 7AM or 8AM to Hozier’s “Take me to Church.”
I liked and got use to that job. It was just tasking and taking a toll on me driving around… beating traffics to see patients on their scheduled treatment times. It was actually– an easy job, especially that I see them on a Monday when blood works are not due yet. Mostly, it’s a “hi, hello, goodbye” conversation. Or I’d be standing for 10 minutes in front of the needy ones.
At 7PM last Monday, when I endorsed my day’s round to the Doctor, I thanked him for the opportunity given. He sounded surprised, “you’re really leaving?”
“Yes doctor, I gave you the heads up a month ago” I said.
“So, who you’ll be working for?” he asked.
I told him that I am taking a fulltime job in primary care.
He wasn’t expecting it. He thought I’d be around for much longer.
Nahhhh.
Take me to church
I’ll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies
I’ll tell you my sins, and you can sharpen your knife
Offer me that deathless death
Good God, let me give you my life
G.
